Job Summary
Maintain and repair operational integrity for electrical, mechanical, and fire life safety systems in data centers, including chilled water, HVAC, UPS, and sprinkler networks. Diagnose and resolve abnormal conditions by reading blueprints, testing electromechanical assemblies, and installing hardware using hand and power tools. Execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs, coordinate with contractors for system upgrades, and analyze operating conditions to reduce costs and prevent unplanned outages. Operate critical monitoring systems and handle hands-and-eyes requests for equipment inventory and power cycling. Work on shifts including nights, holidays, and weekends in a high-stress environment, adhering to strict safety protocols and regulatory compliance standards.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Associate's Degree or equivalent education and/or work experience
- Minimum of 2 years in a mechanical/electrical position within critical facilities
- CPR/First Aid certification
- NFPA70E certification
- OSHA approved forklift certification or the ability to obtain one after hire
- Associate of Science in Technology degree or equivalent education and/or work experience
- Minimum of 3 years in a mechanical/electrical position within critical facilities
- CPR/First Aid and NFPA70E certification
- OSHA approved forklift certification or the ability to obtain one after hire
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be comfortable working in a high stress, fast paced environment with shifting priorities
- Must be able to work on a shift which may require nights, holidays, and some weekends
- Must be willing to be part of the after-hours notification and escalation protocol
- Must wear leather close-toed shoes with a solid rubber sole
- Must work on-site; no telecommuting permitted
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 50 pounds
- Ability to climb ladders and work on raised platform
- Ability to operate Hand and Machine Tools (hammer, drill, saw, etc.)
- Ability to operate electrical tools such as a multi-meter or infrared camera
- Ability to operate a forklift
