Job Summary
Public Safety Telecommunicator (Dispatcher II) for the University of Central Florida Police Department. Responsibilities include receiving and evaluating emergency and non-emergency calls, operating CAD and Records Management systems, using encrypted radio consoles to dispatch to police and auxiliary units, providing necessary information to field units, coordinating with local agencies, validating driver’s licenses and criminal history in FCIC/NCIC, entering stolen property, monitoring campus alarms and mass notification, and handling high-stress, fast-paced situations. Requires a High School Diploma and 2+ years dispatch experience or completed training; NCIC/FCIC certifications must be obtained within 6 months; 9-1-1 dispatcher training must be completed within 6 months; ability to work various shifts; visa sponsorship not available. The role may require driving to university locations and working weekends/holidays; relates to public safety at a public university. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma and 2+ years of relevant dispatch experience or completion of training and probation as a UCF Law Enforcement Dispatcher
- Must receive NCIC/FCIC certifications within six months of employment
- Successful completion of 9-1-1 emergencydispatcher training within six months
- Certification must be maintained once complete
- Preferred: Florida DOH 911 Public Safety Telecommunicator Certification
