Job Summary
ESL/ML Teacher for grades 9-12 at Southern Alamance High. Plans and provides for appropriate learning experiences, creates an environment conducive to students’ development, supervises students in school settings, monitors and evaluates outcomes, communicates with students, parents, staff and community, and adapts instructional plans to meet diverse needs. Maintains records, follows procedures, and ensures safety and care of equipment and facilities. Teaches across applicable areas requiring certification; uses ABSS curriculum, integrates technology, and collaborates with administrators, colleagues, and community. Requires NC Teacher’s License in applicable field, Bachelor’s Degree, and ability to plan, prepare, and deliver instruction aligned with school goals. Duties include creating engaging lessons, measuring student progress, administering standardized assessments, managing classroom behavior, and providing access to outside-of-classroom support as needed. Preferred qualifications include National Board Certification.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in an applicable field for applicable level(s)
- Must hold a valid Teacher’s License issued by the state of NC in applicable field and for level assigned
- Must possess a valid driver’s license issued by the NC Department of Motor Vehicles
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
