Job Summary
9-12 Alternative School Science Teacher responsible for delivering science instruction across fields such as general science, earth science, biology, physiology, chemistry, and physics in alignment with district curriculum. Develops and implements lesson plans and instructional materials, promotes critical and creative thinking, manages a safe classroom conducive to individualized and small-group instruction, conducts ongoing assessments, maintains records, communicates with parents, coordinates with colleagues, and ensures proper use and care of scientific equipment. Requires knowledge of diverse science subject areas, differentiated instruction, data analysis, and familiarity with federal/state education laws. Holds state certification for science teaching (or as required). Bachelor's degree in education discipline and valid teaching credentials; valid driver's license or transportation readiness. Prior teaching experience is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- State Certification as a Science Teacher or as required for position.
- Bachelor's from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
- Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.
