Job Summary
Teach 8th grade math aligned to state standards and IDEA curricula; develop and deliver content and grade-level instruction, master content, and use weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback. Track student progress with formal and informal assessments, adjust lesson plans, and update gradebooks weekly. Communicate students’ progress with students and families weekly. Maintain an effective behavior-management system and foster a productive classroom environment. Participate in after-school tutoring or Saturday school as needed and collaborate in weekly manager check-ins, grade-level meetings, and school-wide activities. Expect minimum 40+ hours spent at school per week. Support a campus culture that promotes college readiness, including opportunities like dual-enrollment, AP, or IB coursework. Relocation assistance may be offered for qualified candidates. Qualifications emphasize content-area proficiency, a Bachelor’s degree, and K-12 classroom experience, with state certification preferred but not required, and a willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and district initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution (required)
- Teaching certification (strongly preferred) or state certification preferred but not required
- Experience in a K-12 classroom setting (strongly preferred)
