Job Summary
8th Grade Math Teacher responsible for delivering rigorous instruction in math, planning and implementing standards-aligned lessons, assessing student progress, collaborating with special education staff to adapt curricula via IEPs, and engaging families and the school community. Requires a Bachelor's degree, valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements, and demonstrated competency in the math subject area; responsibilities include creating and executing lesson plans, using varied instructional strategies, evaluating student learning, supporting extracurricular activities as assigned, maintaining a positive classroom environment, and complying with district and state policies. Supervises instructional aides and participates in ongoing professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI)
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience
