Job Summary
Organize, develop, and lead the 8th grade wrestling program by coordinating practice planning, skill development, and strategy design to prepare student-athletes for competition. Attend and coach all scheduled games, establish fundamental techniques, and lead daily practices while mentoring athletes and enforcing discipline. Train staff on program philosophy, delegate duties, and collaborate with the strength and conditioning program and feeder schools. Maintain athlete files, inventory equipment, and adhere to all district safety rules and eligibility criteria.
Required Qualifications
- Valid coaching license through the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners or the ability to obtain it prior to the start of the season
- Strong knowledge of coaching techniques and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, instruct, and supervise students athletes and a coaching staff
- Ability to work under pressure and remain calm
- Proficient in organization, communication, and interpersonal skills

- Previous experience as a head coach
