Job Summary
Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum while accommodating individual student needs. Plan and use appropriate instructional strategies, materials, and technology to support diverse learning styles. Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing to guide instruction. Collaborate with staff to modify curricula for special education students and manage instructional aides. Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities and serve as a positive role model within the classroom environment. Manage student behavior according to the Student Code of Conduct and compile required reports and records. Establish professional relationships with parents, colleagues, and community members while participating in staff development and faculty meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from accredited University
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for subject and level assigned
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- ESL Certification required for all Elementary (K-5) positions
- ESL Certification required for ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, Special Education (6-12)
- Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Desired Qualifications
- ESL Certification preferred for all other special/elective content areas
