Job Summary
Coach student athletes in game strategies and techniques, develop regular practice schedules, and instruct players on rules and equipment. Assess player skills, assign positions, and determine game strategies based on team capabilities while observing performance during competition and practice. Establish behavior standards, monitor academic eligibility, and model sportsmanship. Confer with parents regarding athletic performance, follow injury and equipment procedures, and potentially drive athletes on the district bus. Maintain eligibility forms, insurance records, and equipment inventory while adhering to state and district regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Valid Department of Public Safety (DPS) Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (FPCC)
- NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching Certificate
- NFHS Concussion in Sports Certificate
- NFHS First Aid, Health, and Safety Certificate/CPR
- NFHS Cheer and Dance Safety Certificate
- Ability to maintain effective relationships with students, staff, and community
- Knowledge of fundamental principles of the sport
- Ability to adhere to administrative policies and directives of the program
- Must be able to drive athletes using district transportation to and from off campus games on 14 passenger Activity Bus
- Must be able to provide proof of insurance as requested
