[8PV] Automation Engineer (Python + Power Automate)

Job Summary
Design and build new Python-based automations for API integrations, data pipelines, and scheduled jobs while maintaining the existing Power Automate estate. Migrate complex flows to Python where economically favorable and retire legacy solutions. Integrate systems over REST APIs, handle JSON/XML transformations, and author SQL queries to support operational workflows. Operate all solutions by instrumenting jobs with logging, monitoring, and alerting, then write runbooks for troubleshooting. Improve execution by evaluating containerized or Azure-native deployment options. Use AI coding tools daily within governance standards and document outputs for future engineers. Work directly with non-technical stakeholders to explain automation logic and failures. Requires 3–5 years of automation experience, Python and Power Automate proficiency, and ability to work USA ET business hours with extended focus.
Required Qualifications
- +90% English, written and oral (C1 level), with excellent communication skills
- Python proficiency: clean scripting, packaging, error handling, structured logging, and enough testing to trust a job running unattended at 2 a.m.
- Power Automate strength across cloud and desktop flows: able to read, debug, and repair complex unattended flows built by someone else, plus the platform administration around them
- 3 to 5 years in automation engineering, RPA, or software engineering roles with automations shipped to production and operated afterward
- REST API integration experience, including authentication patterns and rate-limit handling
- SQL Server competence: comfortable writing T-SQL and authoring queries, tables, and stored procedures through a reviewed, versioned release process
- Working knowledge of Azure DevOps pipelines at minimum
- Daily fluency with AI-assisted development
- Demonstrated, current use of AI coding tools in real work
- PowerShell and Shell scripting for glue work on Windows and Linux hosts
- Production instincts: idempotent jobs, retries with backoff, alerting thresholds that page on real problems and stay quiet otherwise
- Ability to work USA ET business hours
- Ability to remain focused for extended periods of time
- Ability to work extra hours on short notice to accomplish goals
