Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist II (PRN, Night shift) provides advanced respiratory care in predominantly critical care settings, including ventilator management, weaning, arterial blood gas analysis, and airway management with independent decision-making. Responsibilities include medication administration, patient/family education, coordination of activities, staff development, and participation in professional development. Requires graduate-level education in respiratory therapy (AS/BS preferred; RRT/PRN credentials and emergency/ICU competencies), and licensure/certifications such as BLS, ACLS, and related respiratory-care credentials. Location: Fort Worth, TX. Evening/night shift in a hospital setting with a strong emphasis on patient safety, quality of care, and teamwork; mentorship and education of students and new staff are included.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy education program (CoARC or CAAHP) with minimally 20 quarter hours of science
- Required Associate's Degree A.S. degree required
- Required Bachelor's Degree Preferred
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Respiratory Care Practitioner license (or equivalent)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- BLS - Instructor
- BLS - Provisional
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- ACLS - Instructor
- ACLS - Provisional
- 0-2 yrs clinical experience with minimal 6-months critical care
- Ability to communicate well, critical thinking, teamwork with physicians and health care professionals
- Computer skills with familiarity with databases
