Job Summary
Service Test Engineer at ABB to support the development of hardware and software tools for commissioning, diagnostics, and maintenance of Critical Power products (UPS, STS, power conditioning). Analyze technical documentation to guide software developers, test tools at customer sites and in test environments, collaborate with field service technicians to improve tool usage, and write proposals for new service applications, equipment, and methods. Hybrid work model (#LI-Hybrid) with travel up to 50% and global collaboration across R&D, service software, and field service engineering teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
- Several years of hands-on experience in commissioning, after-sales technical support, and advanced diagnostics of UPS, PCS, or energy storage solutions
- Experience in commissioning and troubleshooting mission-critical applications (e.g., data centers, high-volume industrial facilities, critical infrastructure)
- Proficiency in English (B2 level) with another language as a welcome asset
- Ability to write clear and concise technical documents, reports, and field support procedures
- Willingness to travel up to 50% and engage with clients and teams worldwide
