Job Summary
7th Grade Social Studies Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year at Barnes Middle School. The role includes providing engaging instruction and, as needed, distance or virtual instruction to support students' intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Must hold a valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements for the subject and level assigned, and for ELAR teachers ESL certification or eligible to obtain certification by April. One year of student teaching or approved internship required. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills and knowledge of curriculum are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited program or university approved by the United States Department of Education and the Texas Education Agency
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- For secondary ELAR teachers: ESL certification or ability to obtain ESL certification by April of the school year in which you are hired
- One year student teaching or approved internship
- Knowledge of core academic subject and curriculum
- Ability to instruct students and manage behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
