Job Summary
7th Grade History Girls Coach responsible for developing and implementing lesson plans aligned with district curriculum and TEA guidelines, assessing student learning, and planning instructional activities. The role includes using diverse instructional strategies, collaborating with special education staff to modify curricula for IEPs, planning and supervising extracurricular activities, maintaining a positive classroom environment, and communicating professionally with parents, students, colleagues, and community members. The position requires strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, plus the ability to manage student behavior and participate in staff development and district procedures. As a PE-adjacent role, CPR/AED certification is noted for relevant contexts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI)
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
