Job Summary
7th/8th Grade Softball Assistant Coach at Mountainside Middle School. Instruct athletes on techniques, rules, and safety; develop and run practices from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.; supervise athletes during practices, games, and travel; promote school athletic programs and uphold ethical conduct; ensure documentation and medical examinations are completed; communicate with parents regarding team rules and guidelines; hold First Aid/CPR certifications and stay aligned with district policies; assist in coaching duties as needed and support equitable, positive experiences for student-athletes; position includes competitive compensation under MECA guidelines and requires fingerprinting and background checks.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 19 or older for Assistant Coach
- Must be 21 or older for Head Coach
- Must have current First Aid/CPR certification or be able to acquire by the start of the season
- Type II Driver’s License, preferred
- Understand the activity/sport, its safety practices, techniques, rules, and progression of skill development
