Job Summary
7th/8th Grade ELA/Social Studies Teacher at Inkster Preparatory Academy. Responsibilities include preparing and delivering lesson plans with adjustments as needed, differentiating instruction, maintaining comprehensive records of student progress, applying research-based best practices, managing student behavior, creating a positive classroom environment, utilizing school-approved curricula that reflect diverse backgrounds, implementing school-wide culture expectations, communicating with families about academic and social-emotional growth, integrating technology into daily practice, planning and participating in non-instructional activities, collaborating with colleagues, and performing other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Active and current state of Michigan teaching license in appropriate content area
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field
- Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks
- Experience working within an urban environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to supervise students in various school settings
