Job Summary
Provide instruction to students identified as disabled under IDEA in accordance with the Individual Education Plan. Participate in the ARD/IEP process as a representative or committee member from special education instruction. Plan and deliver instruction aligned to IEP goals, collaborate with Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists and other support personnel, maintain accurate records and progress reports, and communicate with parents and staff. Responsibilities include coordinating with multidisciplinary team members, implementing curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs, utilizing technology to support instruction, and ensuring safety and well-being of students. The role requires strong classroom management, knowledge of evaluation procedures, and ability to adapt instruction to individual needs while adhering to TEA and district policies. MAJOR duties include planning and delivering instruction, coordinating with related service providers, maintaining materials inventories, preparing reports, engaging with ARD/IEP meetings, and fostering a learner-centered classroom environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned
