Job Summary
Plan and provide instruction to students identified as disabled under IDEA in accordance with the Individual Education Plan (IEP). Participate in the ARD/IEP process as the representative or committee member from special education instruction, and collaborate with the Multidisciplinary Team to support student goals. Maintain accurate records, coordinate with related service providers (e.g., Speech Language Pathologist, Occupational/Physical Therapist), and communicate with families to promote student progress. Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies, manage classroom behavior, and adapt instruction to meet the needs of students with disabilities. Requires ability to read, analyze instructional materials, apply current research to instructional programs, and maintain compliance with TEA/district guidelines. May include responsibilities such as CPR/Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training, dissemination of curriculum per IEP goals, and ongoing professional growth.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned
