Job Summary
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) responsible for ABG, PFTs, and ventilator support, oxygen and aerosol therapy, bronchial hygiene therapy, and airway maintenance. Proficient with respiratory assessment and treatment for adults and neonates, under indirect supervision of the medical director. Performs arterial blood gas, PFTs, ECGs, and interprets CXR; handles equipment like ventilators and gas analyzers; participates in infection control and quality assurance. Shift: 7p-7a (12x3 night). Requires graduation from an accredited Respiratory Care Program, current BLS and ACLS, NRP/PALS within 1 year of hire, Texas license, NBRC registration, and at least 6 months of experience.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program
- Current Basic Life Support certification
- Current Advanced Cardio Life Support certification
- NRP, Pediatric Advanced Life Support — must obtain within 1 year of hire
- Current license as Respiratory Care Practitioner by Texas Medical Board
- Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care
- At least 6 months respiratory care experience
- Proficient in ABG, PFTs, ventilator support, oxygen therapy, bronchial hygiene, airway maintenance, infection control, equipment maintenance
