Job Summary
Tutor individuals or small groups of students, reinforcing and implementing instruction as directed by the teacher. Prepare and organize lessons, administer and score tests, and monitor student behavior and progress. Assist with lab work, set up work areas, operate audio-visual equipment, and distribute supplies. Perform routine clerical duties including maintaining classroom and attendance records, contact parents regarding absences, and make home visits as necessary. Direct group activities, assist in monitoring lunchroom and playground activities, and participate in emergency drills and assemblies. Maintain confidentiality of student records and adhere to federal, state, and district guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- working knowledge of computers
- Must be chosen with reference to personal, educational, physical, moral and emotional fitness
- demonstrate the ability to communicate and work effectively with students, peer, parents and faculty
- high school diploma, GED Certificate or demonstrated progress toward obtaining a GED as required by Kentucky law
- meet Highly Qualified Criteria for paraprofessionals
