Job Summary
Prepare surfaces, mix plaster to desired consistency, and apply or spray weather-resistant coatings on building exteriors. Install and finish decorative gypsum boards, trim, and molding by measuring, cutting, and securing panels to metal or wooden studs. Repair joints, holes, and cracks using joint compound and taping machines, then apply successive layers of sand and finish coats. Construct metal grid suspended ceilings and install acoustic or vaulted ceiling structures. Requires high school diploma or 3-4 year vocational training with over three years of experience in plastering or drywall installation. Hourly wage ranges from $25 to $30.
