Job Summary
Plan and deliver rigorous, standards-aligned mathematics instruction for 7th and 8th grade students, differentiating lessons to meet diverse needs including those with IEPs and English learners. Use assessment data to monitor progress, integrate technology for real-world applications, and foster an inclusive classroom culture with high expectations. Maintain accurate student records via Infinite Campus, communicate regularly with families, and serve as an academic and social-emotional advisor to a small group of students. Participate in Professional Learning Communities, faculty meetings, and school events as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- North Carolina teaching license (or eligibility for licensure) in Mathematics
- Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to working collaboratively with colleagues and families
Desired Qualifications
- Experience teaching middle school mathematics
- Experience in a charter school or innovative educational setting
- Knowledge of MTSS, differentiated instruction, and data-driven decision-making
- Experience integrating instructional technology into daily lessons
- Ability to teach Algebra I
