Job Summary
Teach 6th grade music education and serve as band director in an elementary/secondary setting, aligning instruction with district curriculum and state standards. Develop detailed lesson plans, assess student proficiency over time, and provide targeted IEP accommodations and supports as needed. Create an inclusive, engaging classroom environment; integrate relevant technology; collaborate with special education staff; maintain accurate records and communicate progress to families; participate in professional development and staff collaboration to enhance instructional strategies; adhere to FERPA regulations and district policies. Manage a variety of learning materials and ensure consistent, reliable attendance and classroom management in a 0.2 FTE schedule.
Required Qualifications
- State of Michigan Teacher Certification required
- Music Education (JX or JQ) endorsement required
