Job Summary
6th Grade teacher responsible for delivering standards-aligned instruction using Performance Academies resources. Responsibilities include creating engaging, inquiry-based lessons across Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies; using data (e.g., formative and summative assessments) to tailor instruction; developing lesson plans from approved curricula; maintaining up-to-date documents and student work samples; communicating with families; supporting enrollment efforts; implementing PBIS and school-wide behavioral expectations; promoting equity and inclusion; participating in IAT/IEP meetings when needed; collaborating with teachers and staff to design interdisciplinary units and participate in professional development; and ensuring a positive learning environment with adherence to school policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field from an accredited institution
- Valid state certification in Education or the ability to obtain certification
- Proven success in working with K-8 grade students in a classroom setting, particularly in diverse and inclusive environments
- Strong understanding of child development, pedagogical theory, and best practices in education
- Proficiency with digital tools and platforms related to classroom instruction and assessment
- Commitment to using Performance Academies’ instructional resources exclusively in curriculum delivery
