Job Summary
6th grade ELA/SS Teacher at Warder Park Wayne Elementary School for the 2026-27 school year. Responsibilities include developing lesson plans and instructional materials, providing individualized and small group instruction to meet diverse student needs, using multiple instructional approaches, identifying and building on student strengths, supporting social-emotional learning (SEL) and district programs, conducting ongoing assessments to determine starting points and monitor progress, evaluating and grading student work, maintaining records, collaborating with paraprofessionals and counselors to ensure a safe student-centered environment, engaging in collaborative planning with colleagues, and communicating with parents. This is a contracted position with 183 days per year and 7.25 hours per day; salary details follow the SEA negotiated agreement. Professional development and benefits are provided.
Required Qualifications
- Current licensure issued by the Ohio Department of Education
- Possession of or in the process of applying for The Reading Endorsement or have passed Praxis 5203 (Teaching Reading: Elementary Education)
- Be flexible in your work schedule and be willing to attend/participate in professional development sessions
- Be willing to serve on teams
- Have the ability to relate to and teach students with diverse backgrounds
- Demonstrate enthusiasm in your role
- Interacts with paraprofessionals, nurses, mental health specialists, and/or counselors to provide a safe and student-centered environment
- Collaborates with colleagues for planning and building and district-level programs
- Communicates with parents and caregivers to address student/classroom issues
