6th Grade ELA Teacher

Plan and deliver instruction for 6th-grade English Language Arts, aligning lessons to state standards and individual student needs. Manage classroom routines, transitions, and behavior to maintain a safe, respectful learning environment. Deliver research-based instruction that accommodates individual differences and stimulates higher-order thinking. Assess student progress through varied techniques, provide timely feedback, and grade assignments while entering data according to parish policy. Develop and coordinate Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for special education students, including holding meetings and ensuring accurate record-keeping. Supervise students during school hours, before and after school, and during breaks. Collaborate with parents, general education teachers, and community resources to improve student outcomes. Complete self-evaluations, professional growth plans, and attend required faculty meetings and co-curricular activities.
