Job Summary
The Hortonville Area School District seeks a 6th Grade ELA Teacher to challenge and encourage all students to reach their full potential in a positive, safe classroom environment. The role requires implementing educator effectiveness standards, adhering to board policies and state statutes, using formative and summative assessments to inform instruction, collaborating with families and staff, engaging with professional learning communities, integrating 21st century skills and technology, and performing other duties as assigned to support student learning. Emphasis is placed on building relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, and aligning with district mission and commitments to continuous improvement and a safe learning environment.
Required Qualifications
- Possess a current teaching license issued by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction for their teaching assignment (and maintain that license)
- Ability to maintain a positive learning environment
- Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills; and ability to work effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and the community
- Commitment to the school district's professional learning community (PLC) mission
- Commitment and understanding of the district's collective commitments
