Job Summary
Cleans and services tools, inspects components for damage, and disassembles, assembles, and troubleshoots hot manifold systems and electrical problems. Creates new tooling components using mills, lathes, grinders, and CNC machinery while assisting with equipment installation. Disassembles molds, identifies proper water seal and flow, and applies safe cleaning techniques to all tool components. Safely operates machinery in the repair area and attends internal meetings to establish priorities and assign tasks. Performs these duties on the 1st shift with regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, extreme heat, vibration, loud noise, and fumes.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- three to five years of related experience in the repair of plastic injection molds
- Mechanical aptitude
- strong working knowledge of tooling, mills, lathes, etc.
- good schematic reading skills
- Strong knowledge of CNC equipment, programming, software updates, surfacing, cutter paths, and DNC
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma and THM concepts
- Ensure consistent, dependable attendance
- demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary
- Capable of effectively managing job-related stress
- fostering productive workplace interactions
