Job Summary
Conduct daily material handling for raw materials, cardboard, chips, and scrap in the Extrusion Department. Perform pre-shift truck inspections, complete daily P.M. checklists, and accurately order materials for change-overs using basic math skills. Weigh scrap gaylords at shift end or during change-overs, ensure proper finished product placement, and verify pallet types (A, B, Peco, Chep). Adhere to SOPs, cGMP, and food safety regulations while managing stress and accommodating non-standard hours. Work in extreme heat above 100 degrees involving stooping, bending, and prolonged standing.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary
- Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions
- Must show basic familiarity with truck operations
- Be able to properly complete a pre-shift truck inspection, as well as complete P.M. checklist daily
- Know the proper placement of all finished product
- Basic math skills to accurately order material needed for change-over's
- Weight scrap gaylords at the end of the shift or at any change-over's
- Understands the difference between A, B, Peco and Chep pallets
- Follows established procedures including standard operating procedures (SOP's), cGMP, food safety regulations, and safety procedures
