Job Summary
Advocate for and support adults 22 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities by empowering them to participate fully in their lives. Provide daily assistance with household maintenance, meal prep, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, and teeth brushing. Assist individuals with medical appointments, banking, community outings, and medication administration while following Behavior Support Plans, Individual Support Plans, and medical guidelines. Safely evacuate individuals during emergencies and maintain all required certifications in compliance with Agency policies and DDS regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Commitment to assisting people with varying disabilities to participate fully in their community and in their own lives
- Varied interests and personal connections in the local community
- Proven record of conscientious, responsible behavior (work, volunteer or school history)
- Ability to work as a creative, engaged, dedicated member of the team
- High School Degree or G.E.D.
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must be 21+
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be available by telephone for daily contact
