6-8 ELA TEACHER J.H. KNOX INTERMEDIATE

Plan, organize, and present instruction in 6-8 ELA classes, ensuring materials and equipment are ready at the start of each lesson. Manage student behavior by enforcing established rules for participation, movement, and transitions while monitoring performance during whole-class, small group, and seat work activities. Deliver lessons with clear objectives, fluent delivery, and brisk pacing, utilizing diagnostic information to adjust tasks and maintain high standards. Provide immediate feedback on in-class and out-of-class work, circulate to check progress, and document student performance accurately. Coordinate teacher assistants as needed, interact equitably with students, parents, and co-workers, and complete assigned non-instructional duties while adhering to system policies and pursuing professional development.
