Job Summary
EC Teacher for grades 6-8 at Broadview Middle, responsible for providing specialized instruction to students with disabilities, developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and delivering services in a variety of settings. Responsibilities include planning lessons, adapting materials, monitoring student progress, maintaining EC records in compliance with state/federal guidelines, collaborating with parents and a multidisciplinary team, and employing behavioral supports to facilitate academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development. Requires NC Exceptional Children certification and a Bachelor’s degree in special education; preferred Master’s degree and 3–5 years of experience. Additional duties include data collection, IEP meetings, and alignment with ABSS policies and curriculum.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in an approved program in special education
- Must possess valid NC certification in the area of Exceptional Children in one or more specialty areas, or be eligible to receive certification
- Experience working with students with special needs
- Spanish Speaking (preferred)
