Job Summary
Teach 6-8 Art in Andrews, TX within the AISD. Develop and implement art lessons aligned with district curriculum; assess student learning and guide growth in intellectual, emotional, physical, and social development. Collaborate with special education staff to modify curricula as needed, manage classroom behavior, and plan instructional activities. Plan and supervise instructional aides and volunteers; sponsor extracurricular activities as assigned. Maintain professional communication with parents and community members; participate in staff development and comply with applicable district, state, and school regulations and policies. Ensure safety procedures and emergency protocols are followed during instruction and activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI)
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
