Job Summary
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject area assigned (art for grades 6-8) to foster intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum, assess student learning, and use assessment results to plan instruction. Collaborate with special education staff to modify curricula for IEPs, manage classroom behavior, and ensure student safety. Communicate professionally with parents and colleagues, participate in staff development, and oversee instructional aides. Be a positive role model and support the district’s mission while complying with regulations and participating in extracurricular activities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI)
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- [Physical Education Teachers: AED and CPR certificate]
- Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience
