Job Summary
Educational Assistant III provides instructional, behavioral, social-emotional, and physical assistance to students with a range of needs in general education and special education settings. Responsibilities include implementing BSPs and IEPs with proactive strategies, supporting inclusion and small-group instruction, administering and scoring assessments, maintaining progress documentation, assisting with personal care and mobility, and collaborating with licensed staff, families, and teams. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, related coursework or experience, and completion of district training; fingerprint clearance is required prior to employment. 6.5-hour position at Fairfield Elementary School within Bethel School District (Eugene, OR).
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience or coursework in child development, special education, behavioral support, or related fields
- Ability to prove Highly Qualified status under ESEA or pass Bethel School District’s “Highly Qualified” assessment
- Completion of required training (e.g., Oregon-approved de-escalation, restraint, and seclusion training; toileting, health, and feeding protocols; and inclusive practices PD) provided by the District
- Physical ability to perform lifting, hygiene support, and mobility assistance
- Any satisfactory equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to fulfill the responsibilities of the role
