Job Summary
Develop and implement lesson plans and activities through distance or virtual learning to fulfill district curriculum requirements while accommodating individual student needs. Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement using formal and informal methods to guide instructional strategies and provide feedback on progress. Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and create a classroom environment conducive to physical, social, and emotional development. Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula for students with Individual Education Plans and supervise assigned teacher aides or volunteers. Maintain open communication with parents, students, and district personnel via phone, email, or video conferencing between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Compile, maintain, and file all required reports and records while participating in faculty meetings and staff committees as directed by administration.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned
- Valid Teaching Permit
- Knowledge of subjects assigned
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
