Job Summary
Elementary School Teacher (5th Grade) in Houston, TX, responsible for implementing the District’s instructional program, developing and executing lesson plans aligned to state standards, and guiding students toward academic achievement. Collaborates with staff to plan, delivers engaging instruction, maintains accurate records, communicates with parents, and ensures student safety and well-being. Requires strong knowledge of curriculum, classroom management, and professional responsibilities; promotes positive discipline, and supports district programs and policies. Licensure in Texas with endorsements for the assigned subject and grade level; reading certification for K-3 (or current enrollment) is required, with preferred experience supporting upper elementary grades and ongoing professional growth.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited College or University
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned
- At least one year of student teaching or approved internship
- Reading Certification for teachers applying to teach K-3 students or currently enrolled
