5th Grade Teacher

Teach 5th grade at DREAM Charter School, implementing a Common Core-aligned curriculum and collaborating with a grade team, leadership team, and Student Support Team to analyze data and drive instruction. Responsibilities include building relationships with students, preparing for and participating in grade team, Student Support, and IEP meetings; tracking academic progress; analyzing assessment data to inform instruction; maintaining high expectations; coordinating with the Student Culture Team and Student Support Team to create and monitor individual student plans; fostering a warm, inclusive classroom environment and adhering to school-wide expectations for behavior; communicating scholars’ progress to families and working with related service providers on initiatives. Additional duties related to running the school may be assigned. Qualifications emphasize a Bachelor’s degree, NYS certification in the subject area preferred, at least two years of teaching experience preferred, strong communication skills, and a commitment to serving diverse populations; bilingual (Spanish) preferred. Benefits and salary range are provided by DREAM (salary range $75,000–$100,000 for incoming teachers, with additional compensation for advanced degrees or NYS Special Education certifications).
