Job Summary
Responsibilities include preparing and delivering lesson plans with the ability to modify during the school year; differentiate instruction to meet diverse learners; maintain records of student progress; use research-based practices in planning and instruction; manage classroom behavior; create a positive learning environment; implement school-approved curricula reflecting diverse backgrounds; support school-wide culture; communicate with families regarding academic and social-emotional growth; integrate technology into daily practice; participate in planning of non-instructional activities and collaborate with colleagues; perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Active Michigan teaching license in appropriate content area
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field
- High level of comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment based on frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to supervise students of various ages in different school settings
- Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks
- Experience working within an urban environment
