Job Summary
Teach appropriate grade-level content to guide students toward fulfilling their academic potential in an elementary learning environment. Establish cooperative relationships with staff and parents, communicate effectively, and use relevant technology to support instruction aligned with state and district standards. Plan and deliver effective lessons, assess student proficiency, and adapt instruction to track progress while providing one-on-one and small group support. Create an inclusive classroom that fosters respect among diverse students and maintain accurate records of performance. Collaborate with special education staff for individualized education programs, engage in ongoing professional development, and attend staff meetings to improve instructional strategies. Adhere to FERPA regulations and maintain consistent attendance.
Required Qualifications
- State of Michigan Teacher Certification
- Elementary K-5 All Subjects (K-8 All Subjects in Self-Contained Classroom) ZG endorsement or Upper Elementary Education 3-6 ZP endorsement
- Experience with math and literacy essential instructional practices and workshop structure
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
