Job Summary
Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning in 5th grade science and social studies. Instruct students, manage classroom behavior through established rules, and differentiate instruction to address individual needs. Maintain accurate records of student progress, assign and grade work, and provide appropriate feedback. Participate in department meetings, parent conferences, and problem-solving processes to ensure student needs are met. Uphold school policies, promote the Christian uniqueness of the learning community, and collaborate with the principal and Booster Club.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Arts degree in Education or relevant field
- Certification with Iowa Board of Educational Examiners in teaching and in appropriate subject area
- In-depth knowledge of teaching methods and legal educational procedures
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in the use of educational technology
- Self-motivated
- Well-organized with leadership abilities
- Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills
- Professional oral and written communication skills
- Flexible, adaptive, and cooperative
