Job Summary
5th grade Math Teacher at IDEA Ingram Hills Academy responsible for delivering rigorous instruction aligned to state standards, planning weekly lessons two weeks in advance, assessing student progress, updating the gradebook weekly, and communicating students’ progress with students and families on a weekly basis. Role includes implementing IDEA curricula and assessments, utilizing a clear behavior management system, fostering a productive classroom culture, hosting tutoring sessions (after-school and Saturday school as needed), and collaborating with the IDEA Team to support college readiness. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree, teaching certification, and experience in K-12 settings; Reading Academies certification for K-3 or willingness to obtain TX training; bilingual and ESL certifications strongly preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution (required)
- Teaching certification for K-12
- Experience in a K-12 classroom setting (strongly preferred)
- Licenses or Certifications: Reading Academies certification for TK-3 or willingness to obtain TX training
- Bilingual certification strongly preferred, ESL certification preferred (not required)
