Job Summary
Deliver bilingual instruction in English and Spanish to elementary students across core content areas (reading, writing, math, science, social studies) and develop lesson plans that align with bilingual program models and district guidelines. Differentiate instruction for English Learners, promote literacy and academic achievement in both languages through sheltered instruction and balanced literacy, and assess student progress with formative and summative assessments. Maintain high expectations, communicate with families in both languages, collaborate with grade-level teams and instructional coaches, participate in professional development on bilingual education, and maintain accurate student records in compliance with laws and district policies. Remote work is not available for this role.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid Texas Teacher Certification in EC–6 Core Subjects (or equivalent)
- Texas Bilingual Certification or Bilingual Supplemental Certification (required)
- ESL Certification (preferred)
- Knowledge of TEKS and ELPS
- Ability to instruct students in both English and Spanish effectively
- Strong classroom management, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Experience: student teaching or bilingual teaching experience preferred
