Job Summary
5th–8th grade ELAR teaching role in De Kalb, TX. Develop and implement lesson plans aligned to district curriculum; plan and use instructional strategies and materials; assess student learning and accommodate diverse learners; collaborate with special education staff to modify curricula per IEPs; supervise and mentor instructional aides and volunteers; sponsor extracurricular activities as assigned; maintain professional communication with parents and students; participate in staff development and comply with applicable policies and procedures; maintain classroom environment and safety in line with district guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training/work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI)
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience
