Job Summary
The 5th-8th Grade Science Teacher is responsible for preparing and delivering lesson plans, differentiating instruction, maintaining student progress records, managing classroom behavior, and creating a positive learning environment. The role requires implementation of school-wide cultural expectations, effective communication with families, and collaboration with colleagues. A Bachelor’s degree in education or related field and an active Ohio teaching license are mandatory, along with the ability to manage confidential information and pass background checks.
Required Qualifications
- Active and current state of Ohio teaching license in appropriate content area
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field
- Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks
- Able to supervise students of various ages in different school settings (playground, cafeteria, etc.)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working within an urban environment
- High level of comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment based on frequent observations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
