Job Summary
Coaching responsibilities include maintaining high standards of sportsmanship, instilling values such as time management and communication, and providing supervision and disciplinary guidance to student athletes. The assistant coach must possess strong organizational skills, ethical and professional attitude, and a thorough understanding of youth engagement. The position requires effective communication within teams, planning and executing practice sessions, managing program budgets, and collaborating with the athletic director and administration on scheduling and team transportation.
Required Qualifications
- Four-Year College Degree or Approved Assistant Coach for a minimum of two school years
- Completion of 60 or more college credit hours prior to coaching or serving as a provisional assistant for no more than three school years
- Completed MSHSAA Requirements under 3.1.5.a or 3.1.5.b
Desired Qualifications
- Previous coaching experience
- Competitive playing experience
- Demonstrated knowledge in the sport
