Job Summary
Perioperative Care Assistant (PCA) providing nonprofessional direct and indirect care under RN supervision. Supports preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative patient care, including vital signs, activities of daily living, and point-of-care testing. Performs sterile technique-related tasks, transports patients, assists with inventory and equipment, maintains clean/organized surgical areas, and supports Sterile Processing as needed. Requires HS diploma or equivalent and BLS/CPR or HeartSaver First Aid within 30 days of hire; CNA or MA experience preferred. 0.6 rotating position, 24 hours weekly, night shift focus. Exempt status: Non-exempt.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of departmental clinical support or PCA orientation
- Obtain certification in Basic Life Support or HeartSaver First Aid within 30 days of hire date
