Job Summary
Oversee day-to-day operations, maintenance, and improvements to the data center’s physical infrastructure; supervise and mentor Data Center Technicians and Facilities Technicians; ensure maximum uptime ( Five 9’s) for electrical, cooling, and related systems; manage tasking, staffing, and scheduling; develop and review SOPs/MOPs; train team on equipment, PMs, QA, and CFOps procedures; ensure compliance with fire, health, and Life Safety regulations; coordinate with customers to support successful installations and operational efficiency; lead safety, documentation, and budget considerations; respond to emergency situations and participate in after-hours coverage.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent work experience (5-6 years in mechanical/electrical position within critical facilities)
- Minimum 5+ years in a mechanical/electrical position within critical facilities, including power or critical electrical power/mechanical environment
- Minimum of two or more years as a foreman, lead or senior level technician in a critical facility environment
- Certified Electrician preferred in state where assigned
- CPR/First Aid and NFPA70E Certification during employment
- Forklift Certified
- Strong knowledge of NFPA Electrical, Fire and Life Safety and building codes
- Experience with data center equipment: 12kV switchgear, UPS, generators, chillers, CRACs, BMS/PLC controls
- Ability to train electrical and mechanical teams on systems and procedures
- Ability to conduct power & fire system capacity, safety and code compliance assessments
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite
