Job Summary
Data Center Technician L2 responsible for the operational integrity and regulatory compliance of electrical, mechanical, and fire life safety systems in a data center. Maintains and enforces processes to maximize customer uptime and coordinates with contractors to ensure quality services. Responsibilities include mechanical duties on chilled water systems, HVAC (ROOF TOP UNITS, CRAC/CRAH, humidification), electrical distribution from utility through UPS to customer load, and fire life safety (wet and pre-action sprinkler systems). Reads blueprints and diagrams, inspects parts for defects, installs components, and operates/monitors systems to address abnormal conditions. Works with CF Ops Lead Technician to track preventive/predictive maintenance, analyzes systems for efficiency and cost reduction, and communicates effectively with customers and internal staff. Requires hands-on experience with large mechanical/electrical systems, familiarity with NEC/NFPA codes, OSHA safety practices, and ability to work on-site with potential after-hours shifts. Certifications: CPR/First Aid, NFPA70E, OSHA forklift (or ability to obtain). Physical: ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in a data center environment. Compensation includes hourly base salary range of $39.57-$73.51 with overtime eligibility, annual bonus eligibility, and comprehensive benefits; on-site role with a monthly device stipend if applicable.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent education/work experience
- CPR/First Aid
- NFPA70E Certification during employment
- OSHA forklift certification or the ability to obtain one after hire
