Job Summary
Administer, monitor, and implement 504 plans by adopting or amending documents for new students within 30 days of enrollment. Schedule and host meetings with all required stakeholders, ensuring timely reviews and accurate documentation with parent signatures. Develop and implement training for staff on Section 504 requirements and instructional accommodations while conducting system-wide audits to ensure compliance with state, federal, and district laws. Post meeting documentation to the learning management system within 48 hours and provide testing accommodations to the state team. Serve as the liaison between counselors, teachers, families, and the district compliance team to facilitate collaboration and maintain thorough records of escalated concerns.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Alabama certification in general education (elementary or secondary), special education, counseling or social work
- At least 3- years teaching or counseling experience
- Experience with computer-based documentation systems
- Knowledge of Section 504 laws
- Knowledge of local policies and procedures
- Knowledge of technology
- Experience implementing, instructional accommodations
- Knowledge of state assessment accommodations
- Ability to interpret data
- Skilled in working with computer platforms, including but not limited to, Google apps, Word documents and spreadsheets
- Skilled in working in collaborative team-based environments
- Skilled in working with, and presenting, to diverse populations of students, parents, and staff
- Exercise good judgment in decision-making, especially in difficult circumstances
- Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-directed, detailed-minded problem solver
- Ability to work well in fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to independently work with others in a wide variety of circumstances and integrate into different school environments
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree
- Prefer experience in Section 504 leadership
